I get it. The comments are as clear as day. What I need is a BREAK.
I'm taking two weeks off from diet and exercise. I believe that my metabolism has adapted to my low calorie intake, so I need to shock it out of the depths of hell. Nurturing my body with care and love is necessary to give the ol' engine some gas again.
It's obvious that I need a mental break from dieting as well. Staying focused on your goals is important, but becoming obsessive about them is not a way to live.
I really enjoyed reading the comments you guys left on my last post; they were really insightful. I wouldn't have been able to see the desperation in my voice without them, so thanks! What's really important is that I'm happy and healthy, not how many pounds I've lost.

HAHAHA BEAT YOU HUPP!!!
Hey Tony :)
Enjoy your break. I hope you come back with renewed focus and a clear head about what kind of plan will work best for YOU... not only for health but for happiness.
Will be here when you get back!
THIRD!
I think that's a good idea, just stop counting calories for a while and enjoy life. That's not to say that you shouldn't eat healthy foods and eat crap... eat as healthy as you can but without worrying about calories and all that stuff.
Hi, I'm new to your blog, so I hope you don't mind if I weigh in. I think taking a break is not a good idea. I think taking a new approach is the answer. I haven't read through every one of your posts to know what you are doing, but sometimes it is what you aren't doing that makes the difference. Are you working out at a challenging pace? Have you changed your fitness routine regularly? Do you always eat the same type of foods so that it has become monotonous?
I hope that doesn't come off as arrogant. I just feel bad when someone seems discouraged and wants to quit. I'm worried that your break will become a permanent thing.
A break from exercise? Now you play Street Fighter all day!
I hope by 'shocking' your system you mean shaking up what you eat and when and not an intake of unhealthy foods. I agree with Diana. ;)
IT'S GONNA GET RAW!
I wish you well with finding your zone. I remember writing a post months back about whole fitness... it's not just physical, there is family, spiritual, job, finantial fitness too.
I've hit a point over this last month that has been driving me crazy... some wall that I go under and back over and over. Taking a breath is critical at times, but I'd like to suggest to be ever aware of when you start getting too comfortable. At least for me that slip comes pretty easy and almost without me noticing it.
At Foolsfitness taking a breather is important... we reccomend breathing in general most all the time.-Alan
Tony, I hope that you try and make healhty choices while taking this break..... Taking a break is one thing, but pigging out for two weeks is absurd!
11th!!!!!
I think that is a great idea. Take a break. Let your body and mind rest a bit. Enjoy it.
